So how do you plan to go about NaNo, if at all? I'm actually seriously thinking of trying it this year so that I can actually force myself to move my novel along. Not sure if I should stick to the regular 50k word count and then add the rest after NaNo or if I should extend it to the 80-90k that my novel is supposed to be and just make myself write every day.

I'm not sure that's still in this version. Gathering people for the Haven involves seeking out specific people (who are actually reformed monsters) that the last person you found tells you about.

Ooh, now we're gonna have to duel someday I'm gonna need to brush up my skills a bit, but with you perhaps I'll finally have a worthy Theatrhythm opponent!

You're almost there, though! I know the Karma Temple is long, but it's one dungeon. Just a little longer and you'll get there!

As for my DQ adventure, I have Sir Mervyn in my party, and the current composition is: Gladiator (Auster), Champion (Ruff), Martial Artist (Sir Mervyn) and Druid (Maribel). Mervyn's already mastered Mage and Warrior and the first intermediate class he's gonna take on is the Armamentalist and the class really looks awesome on him. Also, now that I have the flying carpet, I collected a crapload of fragments, which means that there is no clear sequence in which I'm supposed to be visiting the areas now. The first one I did was the one with the golden Goddess statue. That was pretty cool and bittersweet. I'm also a bit worried I won't manage to get al the mini medals for King Maximo. I heard you need 100 of them to get the fragment he has, but I only have 55 so far and I am very much afraid I've missed some hidden ones

I hope it helps that I'm at my intermediate vocations now

Ugh, don't you hate it when they do that?

So basically everyone's always excited the bridge is opening tomorrow but when you rest at the inn, it's always the same day. So I went in and stopped the clock in the tower and now I'm sucked into a painting.

Ooh, the climax! Right? Was that the final dungeon? I can't remember. I just know that it was looping.

So it appears this town has a Groundhog Day Loop! Noooooooooo
  7. Pretty much.

I beat Orochi last night, guy was more of a pain to deal with then Beelzebub surprisingly enough, but I'm finally off to Karma Temple.

    So kinda like in GQVI

Oh really? We'all see how that goes. Style has been a useless stat so far, but it just so happens that Maribel just became a Luminary.

Okay, so I reached this town with the clocktower and everyone is speaking with Spanish phrases thrown in and I kinda love how the architecture and this "El Maestro" character who seems to be an integral part of this storyline are pretty clearly based on Antoni Gaudi's work. It made me squee because it reminds me of our trip to Barcelona so much.

I kinda wish they'd done more research though as Gaudi was actuallya pioneer in that all of the stuff he designed was way more comfortable and human-friendly than anything at the time, and yet in the game they complain that this dude makes stuff for art's sake and forgets about people, but eh, I'll take it. I'm still incredibly happy with the reference.

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

by Wolf Kanno on 01-30-2020 at 08:17 PM
You know the drill…

I mentioned this in my Chain of Memories entry for my Top 100 List, but Kingdom Hearts and I have a really awkward history with each other. This is a franchise that has always been more of a guilty pleasure for me than something I actively love. Funny enough, it’s not even the basic premise that bothers me. While Final Fantasy meets Disney mash-up sounds contrived, KH has always managed to make it work since this
