Do you have those heavy parts planned out already?

It's a revisit to a previous idea. I had written maybe 13k before of this? Reworked it and restarted it for this nano! I'm going a little outside my box this time. Rather than having some fantasy or scifi elements it's straight drama fiction. I'm doing okay so far. I'm about 7k in so far on this new version

Have you started a fresh story or are you adding to an existing one?

I have managed to get 3,586 words written today at work so ugh, trucking through to catch back up. I shouldn't have slacked but it happens!

I'm 8000 words behind. I had all weekend to write and last night but I just... didn't. I am going to try to catch up. I think I'm coming down with a cold so that's probably why.

    How's it treating you?

    How about yourself?

So far, kinda slow, but that's mostly because we're still kind of in the middle of setting up our kitchen. Plus, work has gotten pretty hectic. But I'm doing my best! At least I crossed the 15k mark!

Aah I see, that's a shame. For me it was kinda my gateway into becoming interested in game design, because holy trout the amount of creativity people poured into that game is just an incredible sight to behold, so I was wondering if you'd had an encounter with it yourself. Did you have a particular game that really made you interested in game design?

Since I didn't see it on your list; have you ever played Warcraft III?

So, I picked up Persona 3 FES again. Maybe it's because I'm coming in this time with no expectations of how a Persona game should play, but I've been enjoying it a lot more this time around. It's weird, I think I'm actually having more fun playing this entry than Persona 5. Everything's simpler, but it feels more... streamlined as a result? Can't wait for the boss fights, those were my favorite moments in P4, and I remember being disappointed by the P5 boss fights, sans the last 2 dungeons.

Mononoke Hime

by Wolf Kanno on 11-08-2017 at 02:25 AM

A few days ago, I went to a midnight showing of Princess Mononoke at the Esquire Theater downtown. The very same theater I went to watch it the first time back in 1999 during it's initial release in the States. At that time, I was an avid anime fan who would consume whatever I could find as the medium was only in the beginning phases of it's explosive popularity in the 2000s, so the prospect of being able to watch an anime flick in an actual movie

Fighting Evil by Moonlight...

by Wolf Kanno on 06-14-2016 at 09:21 AM
So tonight I finally broke out a Christmas present I received several years ago that I never watched. Partly because for the first time in a long time, I felt ready for it. I acquired a DVD set that featured the entire DiC dub of the first two seasons of Sailor Moon, so basically the original dub, not the new one. Original Western score, Sailor Says, and the whole "Serena and Darien" name changes.

It was glorious.

Defining Gaming as Art

by Wolf Kanno on 02-23-2016 at 07:49 AM
This was going to have a subtitle, but they all sounded like pretentious academic papers and that kind of goes against the point of all of this.

So recently I began reading a very in-depth article series about two series worked on by one of the more influential game designers/writers in my life, Tetsuya Takahashi. I'll leave it up to Google for you to figure out why. Anyway, it was mostly a really well written and interesting analysis of the works and I actually learn a few things

Neon Lights, Large soda, and a handful of quarters...

by Wolf Kanno on 08-01-2015 at 10:07 AM
So lately I've been reminded of one of my life goals was that I wanted to one day build my own arcade for myself. Get all the games I grew up on and just have a fun little place devoted to letting me play through the classics and relieve the arcade scene I grew up in. I've been discussing this with friends as we try to create a list of the games we would add to the arcade. Of course there would be the classics like Galaga, Gauntlet, Pac-Man, Paperboy, Frogger, and Dig Dug but I also thought about

Trying to remember a feeling.

by Wolf Kanno on 11-04-2014 at 10:02 AM
Normally I really hate writing personal posts like this but my strong dislike of EoEO and the fact this topic doesn't feel quite "EoEO material" as well as posting it in the Writing Forum felt weird because it's a bit too personal and I feel that forum should stick to its primary focus.

So recently I came upon some writer's block with a novel I am working on and so I decided to shift gears and work on a different story instead until I recharge and have a chance to step back
