The real question is, is "for the sake of argument" a good enough reason to do anything?
Rules like this one? If you're going to say, "For the sake of argument," you must try at all costs to avoid an argument. For example, you may say, "Just for the sake of argument, let's say the dress was blue." But if we all say that? Where's the argument. I think a better thing to say would be, "Just for the sake of argument, smurf you." An argument would surely ensue. What? Too long for a usernote?
It's OK. It's not as if the ordinary rules of conversation apply in user notes anyway.
