To be fair, there are a number of ways that that point could have been made better. I still like VII, though, make no mistake. I just feel that it's been put on a pedestal that makes it immune to the criticism that newer games in the series can't avoid despite either making similar mistakes (like making a poor narrative choice for a good story) or even not making them.

Still, I think you're one of the few people who aren't the least bit hypocritical in that since even though you love VII with its flaws, you still give a fair shot and similar evaluation of newer games In general, I think I'm just a bit sad that people crap on XV's story even though VII had far from a perfect story itself.
