Yeah, I almost considered not posting in the thread at all, given how liberal everyone on here is.

I know what you're doing is hard for you now, but I know it's also what's best for your son, so I think that that's good. Saying that...that's why I respect so much women who give their children up for adoption because they know they can have a better life. Heck, even if the woman doesn't care, but just doesn't want the child. The fact that she gave her child that chance at life is really amazing to me.

And yeah, I've seen those things too, and it really upsets me. That's why I hate the liberal argument that "women always have to deal with it for the rest of their lives." Most women? Yes. All women? No. Some women really just don't care. And I think not having a baby just because it doesn't "fit into your plans" is incredibly selfish. Give it up for adoption. Easy.

I understand your situation, though. Why you would've considered it. As I said, I have friends who were raped and had abortions, and a family member who was in an abusive relationship and knew she couldn't care for her child. I don't think it was the best decision, but an understandable one.

Yeah, I must not have clarified well. That's how I feel. I even said I think partial-birth should be illegal. But at that point, it's not just YOUR BODY. There's a human being who is being killed; at that point I *do* think it becomes murder.

Yeah, I've read things, and seen things. And abortion is monstrous, no matter when it's done.

But, I just think that up until a certain point, the government shouldn't say "no, you can't do this." But, per Shorty's example, I think if a woman has an abortion at 8 months, she's a murderer, and should spend time in jail accordingly. You're telling me that it took you 5-8 months to decide you didn't want that baby? How can you justify killing it? At that point, just give it up for adoption--it's the same amount of consequence for you, but the child lives. I say that window of time, because, while an 8 month old can survive independently, a 5 month old might not. But, you can hook it up to machines and stuff...it's rough, but it can pull through. How can you say that isn't a person?

I'm just kind of curious where our opinions differ. Not trying to argue, just curious.

As for France/Italy, no, I've not been yet - just Ireland/Sweden/Spain/Germany. I intend on going to places like France and Italy and so on once I'm married and can afford to save up for travel.
