Ah, it's probably not for me, sorry! Cooking is something I don't spend much time on, and when I do cook it's just stir fry or fajitas etc.

That's the only thing I'm worried about now. If it gets less than satisfactory numbers, then it's all on my head

I have messaged Chris, and he seems interested, but just needs to check if he isn't busy. If I can't get Chris, then by all means, choose one of your back-up judges! I'll get back to you on Chris. I'd ideally like to get the thread up on Monday, give people a full week to rustle something up and take a picture, and then get the judges to start making the dish. I'll give you guys probably a week as well.

I just want to be careful that I don't put tooo much pressure as we all have commitments, so do you think a week is enough for people?

I accidentally clicked on my profile and realized I had forgotten to respond to this. Sorry! But thanks for the compliments. FYI, I just posted the latest update in my sexism series.

Suikoden is... complicated. Given the massive number of characters, it unsurprisingly has a lot of good and bad. It has some very strong, powerful female characters such as Kika, Valeria, Zerase, Milia, Flare, Sierra, etc. These characters are independent, powerful on their own (whether physically or magically), avoid a lot of common stereotypes, and are not overly male-dependent. It also has plenty of stereotyped characters: just from S2, there's Rina (the temptress), Nina (the young brat with a crush that takes over her existence), and even Namami (even though she styles herself as the big sister, she fits pretty easily into the bratty Yuffie/Selphie/Rikku mold). And then there's Jeanne, possibly the most blatant example of fan service in JRPG history; basically a parody of women's clothing in these games, Jeanne's attire gets skimpier in each successive game, to the point in SV where she seriously should not be able to move without flashing both her breasts and vagina.

Suikoden as a series has one major point in its favor: variety (which FFs 1-10 notably did not have). And the strong female characters are pretty damn strong. And Suikoden is known for its light-hearted moments, which can explain some of its more blatant caricatures. But it still does have a lot of stereotyped characters, and outside of Chris, the most insignificant and least liked of S3's trio, the series notably is lacking a female lead or a lot of very central female characters. Most of the leaders and villains tend to be male, though to be fair the series has a good mix of female strategists (Apple and Elenor).
