Yeah, but I think it helps to know what their thought process is. It's not a complete misconception on their part. Information like this can help people truly trying to make a difference learn how those people think, and begin trying to show them the benefits of working to create a better functioning government.

I mean, they're all buying insurance from that lady through AFLAC. They're convinced pretty much all programs should be privatized while suffering through what large scale privatization has already done (albeit combined with poor government regulation). Perhaps with the right face behind a message, they'd be receptive to changing their thoughts. The article already alluded to the fact that they respond to a strong personality more than a specific rhetoric.

Well, at least I'm near the end, and I won't be using either in the sequel. Yay for less drama!

Btw, I kinda shot myself in the foot in Baldur's Gate. I've decided to pick up Viconia, the best cleric in the game, and Kivan, the best archer, not taking into account certain... Differences. You see, Viconia is a neutral evil drow (dark elf), while Kivan is a neutral good elf. To give a good indication as to what they think of each other, when Kivan dies, Viconia says something like "I was never wild about him, we could never see eye to eye," while Kivan says outright "May Viconia's soul rot in hell." So yeah.

I've recent disvovered they can randomly start a conversation with each other. One that ends very badly. So first Viconia tells him they should bury the hatchet, as she knows the air's always been tense and since they're doing something important, they might as well break the ice. To which Kivan responds that he'll never associate with her or whatever. So she in turn starts insulting him, and he says "you will die where you stand, bitch", and then they both leave my party and start fighting until one of them dies. So now I just save often and hope it doesn't happen Luckily I'm near the end of the game, Kivan doesn't appear after the first game, and I'm also not getting Viconia in BGII because my character will be an awesome cleric by that time anyway.

Maybe you should just politely ask her about it at the beginning of the next class?

Instead of finding one specific solution, you're looking for a solvable pattern that will work if you substitute the letters for numbers, if that makes sense.

So let's think

if A=(a+b+c)/6 that means the right part of the equation is a fraction. It's easier to compare two sides if they have the same denominator. In order for A, a full number, to have the denominator 6, you need to multiply it by six. Like, 1 is the same as 6/6 or 3/3 or 7/7 in terms of fractions. Likewise, 2 will be 12/6 because times 6 is 12.

So:

6A/6=(a+b+c)/6

So now that we have a common denominator, we can just multiply both sides by six so that we're no longer working on fractions.

6A=a+b+c

And from here on out, it's an easy equation. To solve for b, you just have to carry over a and c to the other side.

6A-a-c=b

Now I know your teacher made a mistake because I double and triple checked it online and the result 3A-a-c=b would only be possible if the initial equation was A=(a+b+c)/3
