I know you'll do it eventually

    Do it, come on!

Or, you know, do both lists to even stuff out

Come on, you're churning out those reviews like there's no tomorrow. How's a list like this any different?

Idk, TGWTG is popular and everyone there is super negative. As a big NChick fan, I think it's a matter of sprinkling it with enough humor and finding and knowing your audience

I have beaten Fire Red, actually. It was really good, but I still think the other games are better and more robust.

Do the list. People love lists.

For Zelda, I'd have to go with ALTTP, ALBW, TP and SS. I liked Ocarina but never got the hype.

As for Pokemon, Gen V and Gen II are my favorites, Gen VI and Gen III tied for second place. And I know my opinion on this is unpopular, but in retrospect, I don't think Gen I was that good. It was good for what we had and I was crazy about it, but every game after that was so much better IMO

Pokemon and Zelda are essentially it for me when it comes to Nintendo first party stuff.

Wario is awesome, especially two and three. Three is in general better due to how the game keeps opening up as you play, while two is great because it actually has branching story paths with different levels opening up depending on how you finish the previous level.

Yup. But overall, I was always a much bigger Wario fan. I played the first four games (well, not so much 1) TO DEATH!!!

We never really had Mario 2 here. Like, at all. Early post-communist Poland was a weird place without NESes. The only thing we got was a "Pegasus" - a bootleg NES made in Russia, but there was only like 14 games on it, the original Mario included. Probably becaus I was raised on only the original Mario from the original three (plus Marioland on GB - that was awesome), I always preferred the simplicity of Mario 1 to the robust stuff in Mario 2.

It was essentially just Mario 1 but harder. Idk, I still kinda liked it. Never beat Mario 2, however. It was pretty punishing and I got frustrated. I still like it for introducing Shy Guys and Birdo

Thanksgaming III! (Long overdue playthroughs are long overdue)

by Ayen on 11-01-2015 at 01:53 AM
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the third annual Thanksgaming Month hosted by Ayen's Reviews, and the first to be in video format. Thanksgaming is a time of year where we honor the games of yesteryear and those that came out today, and I look forward to sinking my teeth into this year's lineup. Three of which I will be playing for the very first time. It all starts November 4th!

No more updates. Just reviews.

New Camera, Lousy Mic

by Ayen on 09-30-2015 at 12:08 AM
A few of you know I started doing video reviews of late, and while I got a new camera I'm running into a boat load of problems with it, among other things. Here's a quick video explaining my situation:

Activity will take a hit

by Ayen on 07-23-2015 at 01:00 AM
Last night on the toilet the following thoughts entered my mind: Just give up. You'll never finish a book and you'll never be a published author. So now I have to write a book and get it published to stick it to my inner monologue. Between that and the weekly reviews my posting on here will be cut in half as I want to focus on my writing. I love you guys, but you can be very distracting when people want to be productive.

I'll catch you guys later.

Movie Monday!

by Ayen on 06-23-2015 at 04:52 AM
As evident by this thread I have decided to branch out into cinema. Those who have been following me for a while will know that I already dabble in this medium in the past with my Mario, and Street Fighter reviews, but those were more looking at an adaption from the eyes of a gamer than your casual movie goer, so they may remain as part of my video games section.

Every Monday I'll look at a different movie and post it on my blog before sharing it here. Like my games there's no cutoff
