Out of the bunch, I think Xillia has the strongest story, and Graces F has the strongest combat. I haven't played Symphonia 2 yet, but I haven't heard too many great things about it . I enjoyed Symphonia 1 back on the gamecube, though.

Xillia is reasonably old, with a sequel coming out like next month, so I don't expect that to be very expensive. Graces F is also pretty old, a bit older than xillia, and is a PS3 port of a Wii game, with some extra content. The tales of Symphonia collection is a HD edition of the PS2 version (which again was a port of the original gamecube version, but previously only released in Japan) of Tales of Symphonia, together with a port of the sequel, which was previously only available on Wii. If you don't want to buy the Symphonia collection, you could always try emulating the GC and Wii versions of those games. There isn't any significant additional content for those two games on the PS3 version, except like a few bonus costumes and stuff.

you should review tales of graces and tales of xillia. or the new HD collection of tales of symphonia 1+2

I'd always spam bouncing betties in the tunnels for when nukes went off and tried to teleport while staying above ground to avoid the damage. Can't ever trust those tunnels with Hydras and Goliaths running around. >: |

You said you had the PS1 version of Global Assault? I guess there were some tanks in that game that weren't in the N64 release: the Bulldog, M-80, and Shredder. :o How were they?

SH is more about atmosphere than anything else. Not to mention that you tend to use Melee weapons more often and they are breakable...

RE just suffered the same fate as any Capcom franchise that did really well, it got whored out so much in the beginning that people started to lose interest. I mean I know tons of people love RE2 but RE3, Code Veronica, and RE0 didn't really expand the series as much as fans wanted it too. Not to mention that After RE3 the series kept jumping to different platforms which also killed interest cause I don't know too many RE fans who wanted to buy a Gamecube back then. Like Street Fighter and Mega Man, they just ran the franchise into the ground and had to reboot it which brought in new fans but alienated old ones, same with SF and MM. Its Capcom's main issue as a company.

Changing games to make them have mass appeal has probably destroyed many a franchise, including Silent Hill which never really recovered from being sent to western developers after SH4.

SH in general is not for everyone and it is similar to RE in design. I love SH2 but if I am to be honest, it is a terrible game, its just that the story and atmosphere work best in a video game format as opposed to a film or novel. It wouldn't feel the same without them.

Well I was never impressed with Resident Evil to begin with to be honest. More of a Silent Hill fan.

Thanksgaming III! (Long overdue playthroughs are long overdue)

by Ayen on 11-01-2015 at 01:53 AM
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the third annual Thanksgaming Month hosted by Ayen's Reviews, and the first to be in video format. Thanksgaming is a time of year where we honor the games of yesteryear and those that came out today, and I look forward to sinking my teeth into this year's lineup. Three of which I will be playing for the very first time. It all starts November 4th!

New Camera, Lousy Mic

by Ayen on 09-30-2015 at 12:08 AM
A few of you know I started doing video reviews of late, and while I got a new camera I'm running into a boat load of problems with it, among other things. Here's a quick video explaining my situation:

Activity will take a hit

by Ayen on 07-23-2015 at 01:00 AM
Last night on the toilet the following thoughts entered my mind: Just give up. You'll never finish a book and you'll never be a published author. So now I have to write a book and get it published to stick it to my inner monologue. Between that and the weekly reviews my posting on here will be cut in half as I want to focus on my writing. I love you guys, but you can be very distracting when people want to be productive.

I'll catch you guys later.

Movie Monday!

by Ayen on 06-23-2015 at 04:52 AM
As evident by this thread I have decided to branch out into cinema. Those who have been following me for a while will know that I already dabble in this medium in the past with my Mario, and Street Fighter reviews, but those were more looking at an adaption from the eyes of a gamer than your casual movie goer, so they may remain as part of my video games section.

Every Monday I'll look at a different movie and post it on my blog before sharing it here. Like my games there's no cutoff
