That surprises me, normally Dell are a quality computer, but I generally don't like to go for brand name computers like Dell or HP, they tend to be overprised (point in case I spent £1300 on my first computer which was an HP computer) my current rig cost me about £800 including the upgrades I have done to it, where as my laptop (which is very basic) cost me £300 and that was about 18 months ago with very basic dual core 4gb ram and 500gb HDD.

I haven't set a budget for my uni laptop yet, but I have over £1000 to spend so I don't know whether I am going to splurge the whole amount on it or buy a PS4 as well... I will probably go for the PS4 option.

I barely remember when I got my first computer, the days of dial up and chat rooms. My dad bought it for me while I was still at school and me n my sister shared it... I didn't buy my own machine till 2003... it was top of the range for its time and lasted a good few years up till 2009 when the mobo packed up and over heated (didn't know I had to dust it so it had 6+ years of dust clogging up the heatsink) I managed to salvage my HDD though (thank god, it had 6 years of pictures from PSOBB and loads of chat logs from MSN) and then I bought a cheap £200 computer and upgraded it with a RADEON 5770 and 4gb RAM (it only had 2gb when I bought it) until I got my tax rebate in 2012 and felt confident enough to custom build my own rig which I have upgraded the GPU since then until it became the monster gaming machine it is today: Pentium i5 2500k 3.4GHz OC'd to 4.3 GHz, 8GB RAM, Radeon 6770 (original) upgraded to the 7870 2GB card and a nice 42" HDTV to play with.

I also have a laptop that I intend to upgrade as soon as I get my backdated PIP money so I can do my uni stuff while I'm on dialysis ^^

Thanksgaming III! (Long overdue playthroughs are long overdue)

by Ayen on 11-01-2015 at 01:53 AM
Tomorrow marks the beginning of the third annual Thanksgaming Month hosted by Ayen's Reviews, and the first to be in video format. Thanksgaming is a time of year where we honor the games of yesteryear and those that came out today, and I look forward to sinking my teeth into this year's lineup. Three of which I will be playing for the very first time. It all starts November 4th!

No more updates. Just reviews.

Finally figured trout out and I'll be able to get back into my weekly schedule. Now I have an extra week to get work done.

New Camera, Lousy Mic

by Ayen on 09-30-2015 at 12:08 AM
A few of you know I started doing video reviews of late, and while I got a new camera I'm running into a boat load of problems with it, among other things. Here's a quick video explaining my situation:

Activity will take a hit

by Ayen on 07-23-2015 at 01:00 AM
Last night on the toilet the following thoughts entered my mind: Just give up. You'll never finish a book and you'll never be a published author. So now I have to write a book and get it published to stick it to my inner monologue. Between that and the weekly reviews my posting on here will be cut in half as I want to focus on my writing. I love you guys, but you can be very distracting when people want to be productive.

I'll catch you guys later.

Movie Monday!

by Ayen on 06-23-2015 at 04:52 AM
As evident by this thread I have decided to branch out into cinema. Those who have been following me for a while will know that I already dabble in this medium in the past with my Mario, and Street Fighter reviews, but those were more looking at an adaption from the eyes of a gamer than your casual movie goer, so they may remain as part of my video games section.

Every Monday I'll look at a different movie and post it on my blog before sharing it here. Like my games there's no cutoff
