yeah man I'd imagine that if he had some Covenant-eque tragic figure solving murders (maybe a revenge story is eventually hinted at and further developed later, in which a loved one was murdered by one of the culprits involved in another crime he's investigating) but I can see how maybe it wouldn't be among some of his best work... would you agree that the Convenant books aren't really so strong due to the Tolkienisms, but rather how the protagonists at every turn are faced with despair, but somehow find hope in their attempts to save the Land, irrespective of whether it exists or not? and also what's your stance on the Belief/Unbelief debate (i.e. is the Land real or a fabrication of Tom's mind and later Linden's?) Also I would dare say that if SRD applied some of his philosophies on hope and the answers strong people find to their culpability/guilt and their resulting despair, he could make an awesome mainstream novel, maybe about a character with terminally severe unipolar depression or something. I'm currently writing such a story, but it's also a sci-fi story.

also have you read his murder mysteries, the man who something or other?

good to know man, I thought as much. Any thoughts on Daughter of Regals - isn't that the one about the mirrors, or was that Mordant's Need? Goodkind totally ripped that off for Law of Nines...

I heard the first book wasn't that great, mostly a setup, and that in fact SRD had gone as far as to request the first two books be amalgamated into a sort of omnibus. Do you think that was a valid decision, or is the first novel OK alone?

Been re-sending the Childe Cycle, from whence my sobriquet originates, and am surprised anew by how appropriate it is.

I picked the name Bleys because I thought it was cool, but I have a lot in common with Bleys Ahrens.

Ahrens lives in a universe in which humanity outside of Earth has divided into 3 main "splinter cultures": the mystical Exotics, the militaristic Dorsai, and the fundamentalist Friendlies. He is part of a group called the Others, which are

Wisdom and age

When I was in my 20s, there's a story I loved to tell. It's a true story.

When I was going to college, I moved in with my father. The first big snowstorm of the year, he and I went out to shovel the driveway. My father is an engineer, and he spent quite some time looking over the driveway and the available tools and deciding on the most efficient way to do the job with minimal effort. I, on the other hand, grabbed a shovel and started moving snow.

By the time he

I'm not a religious man, but I've recently discovered that my cat is a Protestant.

I found a dead cardinal on my doorstep.

A woman recently asked me, "How do you view lesbian relationships"?

I thought to myself, " Well, this is dangerous, but on the other hand, it's an open-ended question, surely it's safe to answer "

Apparently not

APPARENTLY, this was a question with right and wrong answers

And apparently," 1080p fullscreen " was a wrooooooooonnnnnnnggg answer"

I'm beginning to grow annoyed by people claiming that technology is destroying society. Yes, young people prefer their tablets and phones to "traditional" activities like family diners- but what does this replace? What was the most common thing people did before the internet? smurfing war, that's what. Tech is bringing the internet inti homes, and that is making people interact with others from other countries and philosophies and thereby find out that such is not evil. Yes, we still
