It was too long for a visitor message, so I made it a thread in general chat.

Not to sound like a dick, but do you know how to solder. Need a break down of the process?

Not to mention crimp connectors fail with time and vibration from the car traveling. I get at least 3 cars a year with now crank issues that I can trace back to the aftermarket security system they had someone install.

They used crimp connectors, those connectors failed, and now the car's aftermarket remote start option doesn't work.

The point is that crimp connectors are crap.

If they say they work, then I can't disagree. Here's my advice, though.

Solder.

Solder, solder, solder. DO IT!

You see that harness you're buying will be replacing the one you cut from your car. Instead of using crimp connectors (the devil's bandaid) be the smurfing man and do it the right way. Even most stereo places refuse to do it because it takes longer, but the sound quality and the longevity of soldering is so much better it's almost silly.

Get some wire strippers, solder, and borrow a soldering gun. Get some heat shrink insulation and do it the right way. You won't be sorry.

I'm usually pretty good with the car wiring, but I guess it depends on exactly what you're trying to do.

You're absolutely not weak and helpless! Honestly, I'd rather be trapped in a statue for another thousand years than trapped in the mental prison they've forced you into for a single day. All you need to do is let me set you free, and you can finally be the best pony you can be without them holding you back...
