You can usually only have 8 in MK. But, it depends on what the map's max population is.

And if you need cash, (SPOILER)steal Crash's soul and sell it on eBay.

I'm still looking for Disgaea, but when I get it I will get an army of 8 Level 300 Genius Prinny Gods. That way when I get bored I can plow through a map over and over. On La Pucelle I did that with my main characters, but they stole my best two...
