I've been asking myself that a lot, lately. I haven't come to answer. I have the same problems with video game stuff. Like when I was playing resident evil things. Although it's easier to rationalize with zombies, cause they want blood. But still. "Experimenting" just doesn't cut it. Maybe aliens want blood too.

I started watching at the potato part, and watched until the end because there was nothing to do. Boring, yes, but I guess that’s my fault for being used to aliens shooting green at Will Smith.
Why the smurf DO those aliens take people, anyway?

So much of that stuff I see the simpsons before the actual reference. Like in Krusty’s Klown Kollege, when Homer made the circus tent out of the potato, I had no idea what it was from. Or that it was from anything at all. Not until last year, when I actually watched Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.

Upsetting that that's the only time. Not that I expect more. Then it would be overdone. I haven't seen the episode though, just saw him in a magazine.
