My mother always goes to great lengths about food. But that’s just because I actually do forget to eat sometimes. Dunno what your mother’s motives are.

She's been getting on me about food for the last few months, too.

Among other things..

Turns you into a neurotic beast.

Maybe it’s kids-having that does it?

I'm so afraid I'm going to turn into that. Which makes me even more afraid, because she's afraid of turning into Mormor--and she already is.

Seems like fairly standard mother behavior.

She was embarrassed, and she felt really bad about it, more...so because of the oven thing. She has a guilt thing. She doesn't want to be at this house anymore because she's convinced we're a huge inconveniece and that we're intruding and blah blah.

Your mom was crying because of the broken table? Did she think she had to pay for it or something?

No. But they took it rather well. Laughing and all that. My mom was crying though, which made me ugh.
