I think with metal bats does make it easier to hit a ball further.

Yeah aluminum is crap. From a baseball standpoint it also feels like you can't hit as hard or make it go as far. Not that I CAN make it go far, but I feel even more crippled while using an aluminum one.

I also prefer wooden. Not that I have ever hitten anything with one, but I imagine if you were beating the crap out of your enemy—even though it would take more effort with a wooden—the sound created from the wood thunking against bone would be wholesome and satisfying, unlike the mechanical tinking sound aluminum would make.
