I guess they’re just those come & go friends, anyway. I don’t think I’ve ever had the problem with my closest friends... but that might be because they all have cars, anyway.

If they won't be your friends anymore because you say no to them over something like driving them in a car, they were never your friends in the first place. Not that you don't know that.
