That’d probably be subjective to the type of discomfort being caused.

It always seemed like a power trip kind of thing to me. Ugh.

By force would be out of the question, in my opinion. One can’t force another into such a thing, and claim to care about that person. Well, maybe people can, but I don’t like to think of it that way.
That’s really more of an abusive father kind of deal—I do this for your own good, I do this because I care about you, and so on.

I think it also matters a lot on whether the person is choosing to be uncomfortable to please someone, or whether they are being forced to do something pleasing that makes them uncomfortable.
