A blue screen of death was actually the thing that murdered my old computer. There was a problem with the modem... I don’t know, something corrupt with a driver or some bull:skull::skull::skull::skull: like that. Then when I tried to connect to the internet, I got that smurfing screen. But it was different this time. The words were in different places, and it was only on screen for a few seconds before the computer reset itself. Then the computer started to load up but... had an error. Never worked again after that. Not even my dad’s British computer nerd friend, Leon, could save it.

It’s what your computer looks like when it’s really REALLY sick. I don’t think they’re possible—or at least, easily accessible—on Windows XP.

I just had mine as blue for years. Many years. Sometimes it would hurt my eyes.

I think I used to change mine like every week.

I’m not going to forget. It’s just nice to be reminded every now and again. Plus, I don’t spend much time on my desktop at all, so I won’t get sick of it.

I'm not displeased. Whatever keeps you from forgetting.
