On the extras walkthrough at the Emerald Weapon bit, it says it has no strengths. I cast 'Freeze' on it, and it cured it! Just a note: Don't Use Freeze On Emerald!;)

But when you're fighting it, use the least amount of materia as possible. It helps. Trust me.
Emmy also absorbs Water and is immune to Earth, so don't go using those either.
try casting reflect on all 3 of your characters and cast a quadra magicked gravaty on your characters (if you have a mega all it works even better as it would reflect12 times doing 9999 damage every time =D
