He can't spell.
He's mildly funny, but his actual sales tactics and description and such are pretty crappy.
He doesn't look funny but stupid in the photo, and I'd bet money that he had somebody he knows ask that question about him.
ebay bills a percentage on auctions like that. It cost him probably over 10 bucks to act dumb like that.
