Why do you (preferably humorously) reckon that the characters in the
FF games have such big sized weapons ?

Because they're overcompensating for something else.
The "PERSONAL WEAPONZ" of their is pretty HUGE too I heard.
Cloud is really the only one who has a ridiculously big sword, and I'll never figure out how he lifts it with those scrawny arms of his.
To make big damage obviously

^ another overcompensator :p It wasn't a difficult question to answer to begin with, but the answer became especially clear when I tuned into Adult Swim while Inuyasha was holding his oversized sword between his legs, and it suddenly shrunk on him
Isnt this in hyper magazine?
It make them look stronger. If I saw someone that are able to use/carry a LARGE, HEAVY AND DEADLY weapon like a paper when anyone else can't, I'll ran away like hell.
because they lke big stuff
it causes more damage lawlz
The size of the monsters that they fight requires it.
Think about it, man. Even if you had the best sword ever, it would be wasted on a monster in comparison to which it is the size of a toothpick.
Unfortunately, that means that the FF Warriors have to learn how to use unusually large weapons as opposed to those that would be effective on humans/medium sized creatures alone.
Aren't cloud and Sephiroth the only oversized weapon users?
Good job trying to mask your inability/unwillingness to think by trying to bring down the thread.
It's people like you who are destroying this world, lazy ass. And you wonder why you can't get a freaking job. Why you have to resort to theft to support your baby's mama.
Why don't you do some work instead of just complaining all the time?
I believe this to be the correct answer. It's an anime thing. Power is seen to be more awsome when the character in question looks weak. It's why there is a theme of Uber little girls in anime and video games. ;)
Also... Auron has an oversized sword as well. He uses it one handed so I feel it counts in this discussion.
That's flimsy. You could also say that the huge weapons are much too bulky for fighting enemies like lizards and such. It's like killing a fly with an A-Bomb. Plus, magic can be as effective (if not more so) on the big enemies as swords and such.
The size and look of the weapons has solely to do with character design. Hell, after a trek around the sphere grid, Lulu's little dolls can do 99,999 to a Behemoth or any other normal monster...
