You can't be a self-respecting AMV maker if you use downloaded footage, they laugh at you!
And the quality will be crap. Stuff up for download is bad quality to keep the file size small and server costs down.
Not in p2p networks :p
I'd say ripping is the best option too - but still don't expect super high quality, since I beleive the FMVs on the actual game discs are only at a 320x240 resolution since that's sufficient/standard for PSX games :p
And tons of compression artifacts.
pc version (of ff8) use double resolution!
The originals are 320x224 to be exact and are compressed with a proprietary motion JPEG format.
Yeah, there's no such thing as "good quality" Final Fantasy IX FMVs.
