Stardust & Neil Gaiman
Sooo, the trailer for the next Neil Gaiman based movie, Stardust, was just released.
Watch the trailer here.
I haven't read the book yet, but it looks like a really fun movie. It's basically about a bunch of people fighting over a shooting star-turned-girl, played by Claire Danes. Release date is somewhere around August.
Who else loves Neil Gaiman and/or wants to see this movie? Anyone read the book?

I have read the book and it's fantastic and dreamy. I'm one of those avid Neil Gaiman fans, and Stardust is totally his trademark tale.
I am upset though that the casting director chose Claire Danes to portray Yvaine. I don't like Claire Danes.
-
It looks interesting. I'm obligated to go see it. I loved the book. Not my favourite of Gaiman's, but up there; it's the only story I've read that's actually felt like a fairytale to me. And I guess that's kinda cool.
I don't like Claire Danes either though. ;P But it has Michele Pfeifer. WHO IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS what the hell. Anyways. I'm kinda surprised Jeremy Irons isn't in this. Huh.

Neil Gaiman is the best comic book author ever. Suck it, Alan Moore.
-
I'm still searching for something which Gaiman is involved with that I don't adore.
Will see this.
-
I'm a wee bit ambivalent about the trailer, but I loved the book and am currently having a blast with Fragile Things. I'll definitely see the film.

Neil Gaiman is absolutely one of the best writers ever. I haven't read Stardust yet, though it's sitting in my shelf and I'll read it before the movie comes out. I haven't gotten around to watching that trailer yet, either; but judging by who it comes from and the cast, it seems like they'd really have to work to screw it up.
-
I wish they won't screw around with the story either.
(SPOILER)I can't wait to see how the film is going to come up with the silver chain, the glass flowers and the little inn that came out from nowhere!
Gaiman is so amazing that I even resorted to reading some of his children's book: coraline, I swapped my dad for two golfishes, and wolves in the walls. He's that good. I want to devour all his stories!
