How many things can you think of that have been repeated in a new Final Fantasy?
Obvious ones include monsters like Bomb, summons like Ifrit, animals like Chocobo, and the character Cid.
One in particular that I can think of is the name Highwind. Oh, and Masamune.
Biggs and Wedge.

Moogles obv wooop, the element of Crystals has been revived from the original titles too in ff12 and forthcoming 13, ('the new tale of the crystal'). FF9 right at the end with the cryst. also..
Cait Sith was a random monster in one of the earlier FFs.

FF4 uses 'BACCHUS' to inflict berserk on user..

Cloud was a unlockable character on FF Tactics from what I remember
