I remember that "Big Blue Apple" was a massive offshore decontamination facility created because of the sinking of the tanker on the coast of manhattan in Metal Gear Solid 2, but I'm not really sure, I read about that a long time ago
Correct it was actually the original name of the "Big shell" as its known in the fully finished MGS2...in the beta they called it "The Big Blue Apple" for some reason...
