What is old?
When do you think a game or system is considered old? According to some random guy at Gamestop it last gen. I was kind of nodding going, "Yeah, sure" thinking he was talking about N64 or PSOne. I went on to the PS2 section and picked up one of the newer games (Came out just couple weeks before) and the guy came up and said that games kind of old isn't it. I had no idea what to say. He was being quite literal: PS2, Gamecube, and XBox are now old.
When do you guys think a game is old? Do any of you guys share opinions with this guy?
Personally I think after 15 years a game can be considered old.

Hmm... Well, some games have had remakes, so I would call the older counterparts 'old'. However, a game's age wouldn't really warrant calling it old. Some games that are still commonly played, whether they are on SNES or PS1, should not always be considered old.

When a game comes out in a certain genre that surpasses other existing games in the genre, that makes the other games old to me.
Some games are 'old' right out of the box.

vide games are timeless in my book jsut last week i was playing bubble and bobble on NES.
-
to me all the games that i like never get old.
-
PS1 and N64 games became "old" years ago. These days, old for me begins with first generation PS2 games like Dynasty Warriors 2 and the first Onimusha.
-
A few years into the following console generation.
-
I still refuse to admit that any console capable of producing 3D graphics is old.
-
I'd say a system which is 10 or so years old is old.

No systems are old until they're retired. Many of them aren't even old after that.
A game being old really depends on its popularity. For example, games like Final Fantasy VII and Super Mario Brothers 3 are not old yet, whereas Need For Speed 4 (which came out years later) is. It's not about its age. In fact, classics never get old, so you won't have to worry about any Final Fantasy games ever getting old.
PlayStation 2 can't be old yet because no one has a PlayStation 3 yet. It's too expensive and there aren't any games for it worth buying yet. PlayStation 2 is a current system, whereas PlayStation 3 is a new system.
Atari is old. NES is getting there. SNES is far from old. However, N64 was the first system to be an exception to my rule. It was old the day after it came out. SNES is the best Nintendo system. That's why Sony built on it for their PlayStation. That and it was originally meant to be an attachment for it. Whereas Nintendo just kept going down and down until no one bought their stuff anymore. I may be wrong, but I believe they said they weren't going to release any new systems if the GameCube flopped. And it did. And they still released the Wii. That makes them liars. And I was looking forward to Zelda games on my PS2. Damn. This is a lot longer than I intended it to be. Better just end it now.

For me, games made before the Video Game Crash of 1983

I don't consider games themselves old or not but the console itself, for me a console is old if there's an emulator that works perfectly, or 99% perfectly with every game. Since that can't be said for N64 or the original playstation, I don't consider either of those old.

Anything up to the SEGA Saturn is what I might consider as being "old"
Atari is OMFG fossils?
NES is ancient
SNES and Genesis are quite old
PSX and N64 are "Remember when..."

"Old" isn't a good term for computer games, I think. A game might be years and years old and still be as innovative and original now as when it was released (System Shock 2). Conversely, a game might have been released one or two years ago, but it's since been superceded by better, more original and groundbreaking games of its genre (Halo 2).
"Old" isn't a good term to describe any kind of media. "Dated" might be a better term. :)
