FFXI crashing! HELP!
I am playing on the Cerberus server, I was riding a chocobo and then got off as soon as I neared Windurst, I entered Windurst and the game froze and it said "playOnline is not responding" so I had no choice but to Quit Now.
I tried again, and it crashed as soon as FFXI started.
So I did a System Restore back two weeks but still the same result. Any help?

OHTEHHORRIBLENOEZ!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!
Did you screw up the files again or sumthin o_o
-
-
Yeah. I use windower but I already tried without the windoer. It still crashed...
-
;]
Mine kinda did that to... but only with the sound.
I played around with the BGMs :[
T_T after the major patch. FFXI was either soundless or beeping horribly.
-
Well, the problem is that the Windurst files have corrupted. D:
Does anyone know which files they are? Can you help me locate them. I can ask a friend to send me the file.
-
Oh dear...which files have you been tampering with XD
First you're headless, now your game crashes o_o
-
Might have to just reinstall the game from CD.
-
Ok, now something is really going wrong. I am now uninstalling so I can reinstall it again. But now, I am unable to even uninstall because there is an error!
-
I had a similar problem like yours before but I was able to reinstall it. Did you just try installing without uninstalling?
-
I don't know how to do that, can you walk me through it?
By the way, I tried the "Check Files" on POL Viewer. But it keeps freezing on 56.DAT.
-
Try having POL rescan the game files.
-
I said, I just tried that. But it keeps freezing on 56.DAT.
It can be that one that is corrupted but the only problem is that there are a lot of 56.DAT files.
-
I didn't notice that post. Try moving all the 56.dat files to a different directory, and then rescan. With a bit of luck POL try to redownload the missing dat files.
-
Alright.
I did that but it froze at 81.DAT
I think it's freezing at a certain time it's running! D:
