Actually, I would prefer Samuel L. Jackson for Barret, but only if it was renamed FFVII: WEAPONs on a Planet and one of Barret's lines was: "I have had it with these mothasmurfing WEAPONs on this mothasmurfing Planet!"
No-one. Because they and the film would be considered cheap by the final fantasy community who don't want to see a "deeply emotional game that will affect us for the rest of our sad little lives" be made into a degrading movie.

If Hollywood were to make an FFVII movie it wouldn't matter who played what, it'd suck anyway. And Hollywood might even be aware that the fanboys/girls/its will eat this up and do an even worse job on it than Square would.
