I know the games aren't really related so bare with me but just a while ago I was talking with some friends about games and such and I mentioned that I like RE 4 better than MGS 3 and they accused me of "blasphemy." Now, I love the Metal Gear series best, with Metal Gear Solid 1 being one of the best games I have ever played, but in the end I just think RE 4 is overall better than MGS 3.
Which game do you guys think is better?
I'm one of the few sick and perverted people who admit that they don't like the MGS series...I have only played the first one on PS but it wasn't my thing.But i have changed a lot since then and maybe i should give the series another try.
Resident Evil on the other hand is one of my favourite game series.I don't like shooters in general and i was very skeptical when i first heard of RE4,but it was an amazing game even for me.RE2 and 4 are my favourite resident evils ever.
I'd have MGS3 any day seeing as it's one of my favourite games ever, and all RE4 did was annoy and aggravate me with wonkfail aiming and hax chainsaw guys. I love the case on the special edition, though, only reason I still have it. ;[;[
RE4 at it's best is still worse than MGS3 at it's worst. MGS3 had actual depth and variety to it's gameplay on a level that RE4 couldn't hope to match. It was an actual evolution of it's series and managed to amaze me every bit as much as I was blown away by earlier MGS games. RE4 gave us the same tank controls from a better camera angle, the exact same enemies over and over again, and an aiming system that was a pain in the butt (I wouldn't have minded the aiming except that the laser sight only shows up on things you can shoot, meaning that figuring out where it is at a distance is almost impossible). Add to that, the worst story in the series history, the worst voice acting since the first game, and a lame attempt to make Leon the Japanese take on the stereotypical American badass and suffice it to say, I got sick of the game about five hours in.
Both are good games, but MGS3 is just better. >_>
RE 4 > MGS3.
Both were slight let downs for me, I thought both titles were inferior to their prequels, but both entertaining games. I'd pick MGS3 over RE4, I thought the story was done very well and the gameplay was still Metal Gear so theres no complaining there.
Both are epic games, but I'd take MGS3 if I had to choose.
MGS3. RE4 starts to get a bit too repetetive towards the end.
Even though I hate the Cobra Unit, MGS3.

MGS3 because frogs are much more exciting than bottlecaps.
RE 4 because I'm not a story whore.
Judging how those games are two different genres it's hard for me to try to decide which one is better. So I will go with both.
