I think having an entire world of people both worship you as a godlike figure and teacher of a whole life system, as well as having them also fear you as a gigantic destructive whale for a thousand years would be pretty awesome power to have, achieve, and revel in (for a thousand years) than the temporary power of killing a few hundred/thousand/million people.
