Keep Odin for longer?

I want to know if there's a 'point of no return' in the game where you won't be able to upgrade Odin into Raiden. Coz I want all my characters to learn Meteor and have some augments to their speed stat before the conversion.

Keep Odin as long as you like, the ability to change him to Raiden never goes away.

In the non-GBA versions of the game I like to keep Odin as long as possible since he's the only esper that has a +Speed bonus at level-up.

Remember, Crusader can also teach Meteor.

Raiden teaches Quick, which I find is more useful than Meteor any day.

But Raiden doesn't have speed +1.
