I would always transform my Warrior into a Knight right away. I never used a Viking. I would use a Dragoon instead
Right now my group is Knight, Dragoon, Geomancer, and Red Mage.
I'm REALLY liking the Geomancer because Terrain is getting very strong. I tried using a shield with my Knight, but it lowered his attack too much so I went back to using two swords, same with my Dragoon, only with spears. My Red Mage is used mostly as a physical character, using a cura when I need it but that's about it.
As far as my end-game group goes, I'll definitely be keeping the Geomancer, and probably the Dragoon, I'll switch Knight to Darknight when I get the gear, and for a caster I'm not sure if I want to do a Summoner or Sage.
Also, I have a question for those of you who've ued Ninja's. Would it be wise to ditch Dragoon for one or not?
Thanks.
I used both Ninja and Dragoon in my endgame party, so try to stick with both. Ninjas are great because they do big damage when throwing shurikens.
Ninjas are actually quite good, they're fast, and they can equip the Masamune. Too bad they have poor defense, but if you equip yours with the strongest stuff, it'll kick ass and often start doing 9999 damage at level 40-50.
Okay, so how does Dark Knight, Geomancer, Ninja, and Sage sound? or could I switch out Sage for Summoner? only thing is I'd have to rely on elixers for my healing.
I always use a thief from the beginning to the end(or I did last time when my file went corrupt before I beat it at the last dungeon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111!!!!11111!!!!!!!!!!!!!7:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:
Vikings are a novelty really; they're no better than the other melee classes. Oh the fun I had with them! Dragoons are fun too.
Lali-ho, mother smurfer!

Similar to a knight, you can put a double shield viking in the back row with the best armor you can find, and use provoke where a knight uses defend/cover.
This could help in boss fights with high attack damage single enemies.
But, no... I used Knight instead.
