It's a story, not just a game. Some specific story makes you sad or whatever, so it's normal to be sad. If you draw an unique face (human related) on a paper, that face will so resemble to the real life human face on our planet considering there are billions of people on it, how amazing is that? Now, within that concept, the story in FFX did actually exist somewhere in real life, somewhere... between two people in a relationship, but you get the idea. What each person is doing in real life, it's absolutely normal. There's no such thing as society or moral!

You will get over it. You should make your own theories as it might help you feel better, unless you are scared of people flaming you for making your own theories (like what they did to me) ;)

Well then. Remind yourself that it is only fiction. I'm not saying it's wrong to be affected by the story, but I think you need to toughen up just a *little* bit if you can't continue a game just because the story is too sad, as you put it.

Yeah there's nothing wrong with being affected by fiction in the short term because a lot times that's why something is written; in order to evoke an emotion in the reader/viewer. But at the end of the day it is just that, fiction.

The story is supposed to be sad, and when you're saddened by it it means that Square did a good job making it sad. Just be glad that they made such a good game and keep on playing it :P

I loved the emotion behind the story and every thing, but it's just wrong! I cried at the end cuz it was so sad.... v_v
