I used to play this game all the time when I was a kid and I've been trying to dig it up as of late. Well, hoorah! Today you can get it for free.
Did you used to play RA? Have you continued to play C&C?
I really liked the soviet attack dogs.

I LOVED THIS GAME!
I used to do skirmishes all the time :p I didn't do many missions in the campaign.
The RA series of C&C is the only series of it I'll play. I love Allies v Soviets. Just can't get into GDI vs NOD and all this other rubbish.
I've never played before, so I guess I'll try it. Which do I get-- Soviet or Allied?
Soviet.
Being evil is far more fun.
Oh this really got me hyped for RA3.
Btw Momiji, i'm pretty sure you need both discs to install it.
I wonder if this version supports multiplayer over tcp/ip. I know it originally only supportet IPX or something networks, which only work locally.
Never played RA, but I've had a free copy for ages.
Yeah, I used to play both RA and RA2. I'll see if I can get it to work on Vista.
loved it but gave up cause it was too difficult for me at the time :p
Windows 95 Red Alert is one of the best games in history.
Man i'm a huuuge RTS junkie and C&C is probably my favorite. As far as the first Red Alert, I never really got into it as much as the other games. It is definately fun, a definate improvement using the Tiberium Dawn engine, although everything is pretty much the same...
That's cool it's free now, though.
Strangely enough I've never played a C&C game apart from spending about 4 minutes on my mate's Sega Saturn in 1997 wondering what the hell I was doing. Age of Empires represent!
