That was my former boss' birthday. He hates birthdays, so the entire staff talked like pirates, but also dressed up as pirates and stuff too.
I took a sick day that day.

The only people I've seen talking like a pirate on talk like a pirate day over the years have been people in the EoFF talk like a pirate day threads.
I thought this thread was about Avast! Antivirus program. Which is a fantastic thing that everyone should use.
I brought Talk Like a Pirate day to my school, and got in trouble for refusing to take off my eye patch when the principal told me to =D

While I like Talk Like a Pirate Day, I would strongly encourage that the people who make calendars adopt a day involving everyone speaking with West Country accents.
A couple of friends of mine have done it for the past couple of years when I let them know about it. I did read about 'Pretend to be a Time-Traveller Day' on another forum which I thought would be genuinely fantastic but, alas, was not an event I took part in.
