Commspheres problem

I'm on chapter 4 and I'm working on getting the mascot. I've done everything so far but I'm confused about the commspheres. At the start I went to talk to shinra and he was preparing the commspheres. Then I talked to buddy, he didn't say anything important. Then I went to talk to Paine on the deck. When I got done with that I was able to view some commspheres. Besaid, killika mushroom rock and bevelle.
Then I went to the moonflow to find tobli. After that I checked the commspheres again. Got some stuff from them. A couple scenes from wakka at besaid and on most of the faqs that I checked it said that there should be some kids playing hide and seek. I haven't seen that. Should I continue on and check the spheres again later. Cause I heard that you have to only check them before and after you find tobli.
