Is there a way to send an anonymous text?

Ok, here the deal. My buddy is a singer and to thank the people that have been supporting him, we are texting out free ringtones of his song. Problem is, I don't want people to have my number but I can't figure out how to send a text that don't show the number. Like, I know on a land line its *67 but how do I do that on a cell phone because the star 67 don't work on cell phones. Thanks.

I doubt that any mobile carrier will allow this, since it opens the system up to abuse. What you could do is sign up to an online messaging service, and send a mass text from the internet to all of the numbers you want to, which wouldn't cost a lot more than sending the texts by themselves.
