I was thinking about getting the Excalibur II during this run, but I've just beaten Black Waltz 2 and am just under three hours so it's looking to be unlikely xD. So yeah, what happens when you get there under twelve hours? Does some guy pop out and hand it to you or what?

Basically, after you beat Lich and get to the spot where the Excalibur II will be, it's just there. You get a cute little message, and then get the sword.
One thing I hate about the challenge is that due to the PAL version's framerate, us UK and Euro players actually CANT complete the challenge, because it will ALWAYS go over the time limit :(

One of these days I'll make the effort to replay the game just to get Excalibur II. If I never would've watched the video, I never would've known that Excalibur II was reference to FF V. Nice touch :D
I was trying to on my current playthrough, then halfway through disc one, I decided I didn't want to :tongue:
Getting Excalibur II is one of those things in ff9 I haven't done, and probably won't. I like to take my time playing the game lol, and if I go to fast I get anxious. I do however admire people with the resilience to take the time and get the damn thing.
