I've gotta be up Wednesday so I don't know how much I'll see. Maybe I'll go outside and scope out the skies before I go to bed.

The last time I caught the perseids was about four years ago, but it was gorgeous. About 4AM with a beautiful moon. The sky was purple.
Do meteor showers happen all night? o.o Or is it a, you have to catch it at this moment sorta thing?
They go on for a couple of days, but tonight is when we will pass through the thickest part of it. Basically there is space junk floating around and our orbit passes through it each year. The meteors show up when they hit the earth's atmosphere and burn up.
It should be happening throughout the night, though there will be spurts of activity.Quote:
