I like Penelo.

Fran, just like her style and she's living la vida loca, flying around and nicking treasure with the prodigal son. Its a pirates life for her, far better than chilling in the forest worshiping the green word or whatever they do all day.

but Basch sunny disposition in the face of imprisonment and accuastions is very admirable

I quite liked Balthier and Basch. I found Vaan and Penelo to be largely unexciting, but rather liked these two characters. I felt both had a bit more to them than the others and I was actually interested in their backstories.

I love most of the cast to be honest so my list may be a little longer...

I love Balthier, Lady Ashe, Captain Basch, Doctor Cid and Gabranth.

Balthier is my favourite character but I also liked Al-Cid. Doctor Cid was pretty awesome too. Hell I liked a lot of the cast.

Basch- his story is the best, and I love his determined facial expression.

Probably Basch, he subsequently faced one tough ordeal to the next and pulled through because he was diligent and determined. I like characters like that, though I also like the humorous and sarcastic types such as Balthier.
