Favorite NPCs, go!
I like the little boy in Pokemon Red/Blue (I think it was Red and Blue, could it have been Gold/Silver?) that just goes on about shorts and throws his Pokemon out. Spacey Girl and Errand Boy from Persona 4 are also favorites n.n

It's a Youngster. He's optional. He's just after Pewter City.
Old guys in pointy hats from FFI-V (I heard he made a comeback in FFXI!?). They always had interesting and quirky things to say, and FFII, the advisor to the Queen actually had a nice character progression!!!!
I love Spacey Girl from Persona 4. And Handsome Foreigner from Devil Summoner. He spoke funny. And the drunk from FF7 with this line, "It sounds like there's something going on outside, but I'm too drunk to care."
Aya's Bear in IU... You get his speech translated and it's always something you wouldn't expect him to say... he's so deep and poetic xD! That or just threatening Capell.
Well, in line with the shorts youngster, I'll put in a vote for the "I like trees." kid from Shining Force II.
Do villains count for this competition?

Best NPCs in any series ever.
I like the housewife npc in Oakfield who keeps propositioning my character even though her husband hates me for using her in a threesome for the achievement I find it hillarious that she will even do it first thing after waking up in the morning when her husband is right there.
I love the traveling merchants in Shadow Hearts: Convenant, lol.
They hit on the main character and sew you dresses when you give them cards of half-naked men, what's not to like?
The Baldur's Gate NPC's are win.
"No, Bad Dog!"
Stiltzkin and all the other moogles in FFIX were pretty damn awesome if you ask me.
FFIX had the most loved NPCs imo. The majority of them had unique names, and they had their own little stories. There's Theodore, the kid who chases the pretty girl through the streets of Alexandria. There's the pickle lady in Lindblum. Then you have all the moogles. And Gilgamesh the weirdo. I just liked how they were handled, like they were actually recognised as being a part of the story, not just the game.
"Don't touch the poster at the Game Corner! There's no secret switch behind it!"
The Purple Tentacle.
This one random NPC from Assassins Creed who, after I jumped off a building, exclaimed in a Mexican accent 'Wow, now I've seen everything.'
I'm not sure why, but I found it hilarious at the time.
