THERE ARE SO MANY WAYS TO DO IT! I prefer this way, though. :) Even if I have to put my thumb back when I count all the way to four.

itt yar is continental european.
index middle ring
My hand is too rough to be counted. :colbert:
Also, since seeing Inglorious Bastards, I count the german way!
I have a few ways to count to three, or maybe two ways.
If I start counting with my left hand, I go pinky, ring, middle. With my right, I go index, middle, ring.
Ever since I learned sign language I do it like that--index, middle, and thumb.
I seem to alternate between starting index to pinky, then thumb, and pinky to index, then thumb.
Thumb to pinky, with either hand.
Thumb to pinky, with either hand. :)
SNAP RANTZ!
Thumb to pinky, with either hand.
Third times a charm :moomba:
I hold up both hands with my fingers closed in a fist. I raise my index finger on my left hand followed by the index finger on my right hand. Then I point at something and raise my little finger on my left hand.
Index, middle, ring.
I can't do that on my right hand very well. It puts too much stress on my pinky because I have to hold it down too hard.
Index, middle, thumb. If the ring finger were the third finger, it would conflict with the symbol that's used for six, since you have to hold down the pinky.
You can't start with the thumb, because that would conflict with ten. You could start from pinky, then ring, then middle, but then you have a numbering conflict with nine.
There's other ways to count to ten? Really?
