I can't open my tube of Mentos gum! This is it, exactly, in this person's blog review: http://ebidebby.blogspot.com/2009/03/mentos-red-fruit-lime-gum.html. It looks like I'm supposed to pull off a plastic strip that's located in the space below the lid (absent in the reviewer's pictures). That's what I first tried, though, and a side piece broke off.
I'm not strong enough to force the lid off, and I want my candy! Give me ideas.
Can you get something thin but strong in under the plastic strip to force a piece of it loose to pull? Alternatively, you might be able to use a knife to cut alongside the strip to release it from the lid. But mind your fingers! :Eek:
Despite how dangerous it was, I sawed off the lid with a knife.
New problem: this gum isn't strawberry.

To open stuff like that I usually hold it in both hands and push the top against the edge of a counter or bottom of a cabinet.
bite it.... teeth are good for that, course i chew ice
