used to post here years ago, with FF13 bringing me back, was wondering whats changed on eoff?

lol, im yet to play the game, havent really been into videogames for a while which is probably what has kept me away.
Just wondering what everyones opinions on it is?
worth spending £40 on?

Based on all the chatting that's been going on in the FFXIII forum, I think the consensus is that it's pretty awesome. The characters are awesome, most of us think the battle system is neat, and it's overall very pretty. I think it's worth it to get. It may just be my favorite FF yet, next to IV.

Oh yeah, it's totally linear. But, I mean... it's a Final Fantasy. They're like interactive movies. If you don't want a linear game then Final Fantasy isn't for you to begin with.

I do like the story though. If it was linear with a lame story and lame characters that's one thing, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I'm holding off on FFXIII for the meantime because I've got a lot of assignments and work to do, but from the instruction manual, it sounds pretty cool. I especially like the sound of 'paradigm shift'-ing. Square has brought my sociology studies and my gaming together.

I dont' think ff13 will disappoint you! sure it's linear but everything else makes it irrelevant and the story sort of requires the linearity.

Most of us old farts are still around, I suppose.

..and oh yeah, this place is pretty much still the same xD
