I always liked the frankness of Resident Evil's "You Are Dead".
I’ve never played Friday the 13th, but I watched the AVGN’s review of it and remember the game over screen being particularly stupid... something like

That reminds me of how awesome the game over against Bain was in Arkham Asylum: A re-enactment of him snapping Batman's back. Great stuff.Quote:

Oh man, I forgot about CT. Showing the consequences of your failure is a great idea. Only problem is it doesn't work on games where you will die a lot.

It happens in Strange Journey too. It's not as long though, but you see the Schwarzwelt swallow the Earth when a demon kills you...or turns you to stone...or charms your demon and it kills you...ect.
