I'm unsure as to whether summer 2011 covers the "Current Tasks" only or if it also includes "Future Tasks" with "Current Tasks" covering the upcoming patch.

Discuss the various new things in this thread, I guess! Obviously there is the other thread for the battle system and job system which has already been mentioned, but this thread is as good as any for the new talk, including...

- Mounts
- Materia System
- Ifrit Battle
- Grand Companies
- UI updates
- Tutorials
- Whatever "Stage two of radical improvement measures" to the Market Wards means
- Quest Hubs
- Strengthening of Beast Tribes
- Achievements

Summer for America, or summer for Japan? Because if it's Japan, that means we won't be seeing this stuff until the end of the year (highly unacceptable).

Again I'm not getting my hopes up until I actually see it all implimented.

Summer in Japan and summer in America are one and the same.

Ah of course, I don't know what I was thinking.

On that note, did they ever talk about removing the exp cap thing? Cuz that was stupid.

Look for surplus, and yeah, I believe they are removing it. Although I still never saw any problem with it, but then I am the kind of person to balance their classes for the most part.

Looks like SE are already developing a new MMO.

Aye, it's rumoured to be a F2P one, potentially on Facebook. Apparently they want 3-4 MMO's working side-by-side at all times or something, and with Future Earth Zero (or something like that?) no longer operating outside of Japan, it's expected this one is being started up to take over that 'slot'.
