Found out it's available on Netflix off my PS3. Now I can laugh my ass off at their "scientific methods" at my leisure. This show is so fun to yell at. It's ridiculous.
EDIT: Mods, I thought I put this in The Lounge. Whoops.....

I came across this show while googling some stuff for uni. As I'm studying archaeology, it's painful seeing some of the rubbish they come up with...
It's simaltanesouly really awesome and really lame. I love it and how silly some of the things are, but it's interesting watch incredibly ridiculous fights you can agree with.
Next season has some awesomely lame fights coming up to! Joan of Arc vs. William the Conqueror, bitches!
It's my love of the show (despite their tweakishness) that makes me want to play it on 360 (despite not owning one).
So what's your favorite pet peeve about the show? I love how they'll use separate tests criteria on different weapons that they're comparing.
The Reason the show is terrible is their testing methods are smurfing terrible.
Obviously like any sane person I find the 'testing' that goes into each episode hard to stomach, but the concept is ridiculously awesome.
It is time to compute lethality and have a pissing contest, boys.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the stale, scripted "trash talking" they make both sides do. It almost bothers me more that the crappy testing.
I think the reason I watch this, aside from cool weapons (obviously), must be similar to the reason I like Mystery Science Theater 3000. This show is just great to make fun of with a group of friends. My guilty pleasure.
I hate the silly matchups. Spartan vs. Ninja, for example:
A ninja is not a warrior. A ninja is an assassin. You don't fight a ninja.
The history, weapons, reenactments, and tests themselves are cool in terms of watching someone stick a weird weapon into something (insert joke here). However, the silliness, ridiculous logic that fails to effectively compare any of the weapons, and general cheesiness makes it merely another so-bas-it's-good guilty pleasure,
Also, they rarely take into account tactics, areas Shaka Zulu and Sun-Tzu in particular were famous for, into most of their fights.
EDIT: Zande Warrior and Rajput are smurfing badass, btw.
I love watching them slice up big pieces of meat with ancient weapons  My problem with the show is their so-called experts. Alot of them really don't know squat. Example, in the IRA vs Taliban episode (which has by far one of the funniest dramatization sections) they test Flame throwers as one of the IRA weapons. Having studied Irish history for most of being life & being a bit of a history buff I happen to know the IRA never used flame throwers against the British! They stole some in 80's that ended up being used in a couple of armed robberies but a flame thrower is hardly the weapon of choice for a guerilla organization lol
Let's think of some cool match-ups! I got one: Saladin vs. Nobunaga!
That would be awesome. :)
I like the more modern match-ups. Something like British SAS vs. Delta Force or Team 6 would be pretty cool.
Maybe someone matched up against an Egyptian soldier would be a good old school match up.
Either way it shall be gloriously inaccurate.
