I'm not sure if this counts as a character theme seeing as it's also a battle theme, but if it is then I have to say it is almost certainly without doubt that Laguna's theme, "The Man With the Machine Gun", is my favourite.
Though it's certainly a tough call. I also LOVE Beatrix's theme. Well, more specifically, the more upbeat version of it that isn't technically her theme. :p
I don't really have a favorite. I like the staples like Sephiroth and Kefka's theme. But I love older stuff like Golbez's theme, especially the version that plays in the tower of Zot.
Terra's theme from FF6 and Rose of May (Beatrix) from FF9.
Most questions like these I'd have to think about -- not this one.
