Final Fantasy 7, one of the best-loved RPGs of all time could finally be set to hit Steam, in an updated version, according to information spilling out of Square Enix-registered domain www.finalfantasyviipc.com.

Players will also be able to save their progress to the cloud (no pun intended) and resume their adventuring on multiple PCs.

Steam registry entries found last year mentioned Final Fantasy 7 and 8.

The listed price is a mere £7.99/€9.99.

No pun intended, my ass. If they do this you know they are having cloud service because of FFVII's Cloud!

I want Tifa saves instead.

If there's actually NEW CONTENT I'm okay with this. If it's pay to use Cloud's Junon SOLDIER outfit throughout the game then not so much.

Push botton to gib moni sure is a thing though.

Couple other websites are claiming that FF7 will also have online chocobo racing, and FF8 will have Triple Triad online.

The funniest part of this conversation are the 16 year-old Call of Duty elitists who immediately jump to, "OH MY GOD, IT HAS ACHIEVEMENTS, ONLINE PROFILES, AND LEGAL CHEATS! HAHAHA, THAT'S SO GAY!"

I'll never understand people crying and complaining over optional things. It's like some people want to do everything possible to prevent themselves from enjoying the game.

The best part of it is that now FF7 can be played again with more of a purpose. It's going to be talked about again, discussion will pick up, and playing through once again will feel relevant and part of the times. That makes it a little more fun for me.

I think this is good news. There is no real way to play the game this generation on the PC unless you want to use patches and mods to make the game playable on a modern operating system. I like the fact that I'll be able to modify the game as necessary without having to hack the game files. I wanted to replay Final Fantasy VII since I haven't played it since I was a child, and a slightly updated release on the PC might be the perfect timing to do this.

Well I'll be smurfed, maybe it is true. I can't imagine them doing this though, it'll only re-ignite the burning passion of the fans who want a true remake. Still, interesting to see what "achievements" it has.

Cloud Saves. Hehe. Surely Aeris Saves!

Instant purchase when it comes out, as they well know. Hopefully it won't be as buggy as their older PC games...

I want to play as Zack.

I wish they had of done this when they released it for PSN.
